The creator sets the price, not the platform
This is the single most misunderstood thing about subscription platforms, and it is why no third-party site can give you a reliable price — including this one. Each creator chooses their own monthly rate within the platform's permitted range, changes it whenever they want, and frequently runs temporary promotions.
A price quoted on a blog, a forum or an index page is a snapshot of one moment. It may have been accurate when written; it is unlikely to be accurate now. The current figure is displayed on the profile itself, before you are asked for card details, and that is the only number worth acting on.
Not caution for its own sake. A stale price is worse than no price: it sets an expectation the checkout will contradict, and it makes every other figure on the page look less trustworthy. We would rather send you to the profile.

Only the first of these recurs. The others are individual purchases, which means a month on a platform can cost anywhere from the subscription price to a great deal more depending on how you use it. If you are budgeting, budget for the subscription and treat everything else as discretionary.
How renewal actually behaves
- You subscribe. The first charge is taken immediately and access starts at once.
- The subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you turn renewal off. This is the default on essentially every subscription platform.
- Turning off renewal does not end your access immediately. You keep it until the period you have already paid for expires — which is the correct behaviour, but it does mean cancelling does not produce a refund.
- If the creator raises their price, the new rate applies from your next renewal, not retroactively.
- If the creator closes or pauses their profile, access ends with it. Platforms generally do not refund the remainder of a period in that case.
If you only wanted one month, switch renewal off the same day you subscribe. Access runs to the end of the period regardless, and you remove the possibility of forgetting.
What appears on your bank statement
A charge appears, as it does for any card payment — there is no way around that and anyone claiming otherwise is selling something. What the platform controls is the descriptor: the merchant name printed on the line. Subscription platforms use neutral, non-descriptive descriptors that do not name the creator and do not indicate the nature of the service.

Refunds, chargebacks and disputes
Digital content delivered immediately is, in most jurisdictions, exempt from the standard distance-selling right of withdrawal — you waive it by accepting delivery. In practice this means refunds are discretionary rather than guaranteed, and are handled by the platform rather than by the creator.
Chargebacks are a bad first resort. Filing one against a subscription platform will typically get your account closed and, since your card details are already associated with it, will not be quietly forgotten. If something has genuinely gone wrong — a duplicate charge, a subscription you cancelled that billed anyway — contact platform support first and give them a chance to fix it.
Judging whether a subscription is worth it
Before paying, look at three things on the profile: how recently the creator last posted, how many posts exist in total, and whether the visible content is what you are expecting. A profile with a large archive and weekly activity is a different proposition from one with forty posts and nothing since spring, even at the same price.
The second consideration is language. If the feed is in French and you do not read French, a substantial part of what you are buying — captions, messages, context — will not land. That is not a criticism of the creator; it is a mismatch worth noticing before rather than after.
